The Freckled Goatfish (Upeneus Tragula), is a species of Goatfish found in the Indo-Pacific region. They are carnivorous and feed on small invertebrates that they sense in the sand using their two whiskers. The fish has a distinctive line that runs horizontally along its body with black spots on its fins.

This species of Goatfish is primarily found in the Indo-Pacific region, predominantly Eastern Indian Ocean, and Western Pacific Ocean. They are inhabit coral reef and rocky ecosystems near the coast.

Appearance
The Freckled Goatfish can reach a length of 30cm covered in small freckles, and a black line running horizontally along its body. It has two fins which can be venomous and used in defence. They can vary in colour from a reddish brown colour to yellowish brown.
