Description
The Sergeant Major Damselfish (Abudefduf Saxatillis), also known as the Sergeant-Major Damsel is a small oval fish and a member of the Damsel family. It is named after its black and yellow striped appearance, resembling the stripes of a Sergeant’s rank. This species of Damsel is found in the Western Atlantic ocean, Indian Ocean, Central Pacific, and Indo-Pacific region, and generally distributed in tropical and sub-tropical waters across the world.

Appearance
The Sergeant Major Damselfish has an oval body, and can grow up to approximately 15cm in length. With a grey body, they have five black/blue stripes and yellow stripes that run vertically down its body, making it easily distinguishable when snorkeling.
